And HE was sleeping at the stern on the cushion. And they awoke HIM, and said unto him, MASTER, do thou not worry that we perish, Mark 4:38.

The disciples asked the LORD JESUS why HE was not worried about the danger of shipwreck. The reason for His Calmness: it is because HE IS GOD. Indeed, it is CHRIST THE WORD made flesh who created all things, who controls and supports them. This sleep was only in appearance, for HE who guards Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, assures Psalm 121:4. Indeed, this storm was a test to see the reaction of the disciples faced with a dangerous situation.

This is how THE LORD prepared them for the future perils of evangelization. This is why the Apostle Paul continued his mission as a preacher until the end, despite the three shipwrecks cited in 2 Corinthians 11:25. This Apostle walked with THE LORD. Because it is written in Isaiah 52:12: Do not go out hastily, do not flee; for the LORD will go before you, and THE GOD OF ISRAEL will stop you.

THE MESSIAH teaches just to keep calm, while the enemy sows anxiety. To declare like Elisha in 2 Kings 6:16: "Fear not, for those who are with us are greater in number than those who are with them." As King David said earlier: “I remain silent, I do not open my mouth, for YOU do the work,” according to Psalm 39:10.

Faced with the aggressors, Simon Peter used a physical sword to defend himself, relates John 18:10, abandoning THE WORD OF GOD which IS THE SWORD to grasp. For THE WORD OF GOD IS LIVING AND EFFECTIVE, SHARPER than any two-edged sword, testifies Hebrews 4:12. SHE IS A SHARP TWO-EDGED SWORD which comes out of the Mouth of the LORD, reveals Revelation 1:16.

This is why he who walks in righteousness does not fear bad news; his heart is firm, confident in THE LORD, declares Psalm 112:7. Thus, the righteous keeps his calm by having his eyes fixed on His REDEEMER, THE ETERNAL LIVING GOD! This is why he who fears THE LORD must always walk with confidence, because he is under the Protection of Our FATHER CELESTIAL.

Keep calm, because it is THE LORD Your GOD who is acting!
